Up to 12 hours of coursework completed as a non-degree student can be applied towards the master's degree, should the student be admitted into the History program.

For further information, please contact the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Mary Niall Mitchell: molly.mitchell@uno.edu or (504) 280-1208.

Review of Applications

A committee of history faculty reviews all applications. Each application is considered in its entirety. However, the committee places special emphasis on the applicant’s transcript(s), letters of recommendation, and personal statement explaining the applicant’s background and reasons for pursuing an M.A. as expressed in the personal statement (see the History Program application).
