Undergraduate Advising

The Department of History introduced a new curriculum for B.A. students entering UNO beginning with the fall semester of 2005.  Students entering UNO prior to Fall 2005 are free to choose between the new curriculum and the old one, although we encourage all students to use the new curriculum.

Two advisors are available in the department to help majors plan their programs of study and to assist when questions arise.

Undergraduate Coordinator

Dr. Wilson jkwilson@uno.edu

Assist. Undergraduate Coordinator

Dr. Mokhiber jmokhibe@uno.edu

Also check out the “frequently asked questions”.  For currently-enrolled students, please include your seven-digit student ID number (not your social security number) when e-mailing an advisor.

German First World War Poster of an Elf

In this German First World War poster, an elf in the woods recommends: “If you want oil, then collect beechnuts.” During the First World War, blockaded Germany sought to replace once-imported goods with domestic alternatives.  All manner of seeds and nuts were collected by children and processed to extract cooking oil to ease critical food shortages.  Kriegsausschuß für pflanzliche und tierische Öle und Fette.  Library of Congress.
